Pfalzbau

Eventhouse Ludwigshafen

The Pfalzbau Theater in the center of Ludwigshafen is one of the most important and innovative event and cultural congress houses in Germany with state-of-the-art architecture, it-infrastructure and a multifunctional room program. For its 50th anniversary I photographed this impressive piece of architecture, where technology meets creative atmosphere, for the City of Ludwigshafen in the middle of the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region. On 21 September 1968, the new Pfalzbau was opened on the ground of the former Aktienbrauerei in Ludwigshafen with the guest performance of the Mannheim National Theater and Mozart's "Magic Flute". Today and fifty years later high class events like the "Digital Gipfel" where representatives from politics (i.a. Chancellor Merkel), economy, science and society meet each other to discuss the digital future of Germany, are hosted here, as well as corporate and cultural events.
